May 2024 Highlights

A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The semester may be wrapping up, but the arts are alive as ever at Lehigh. Our final two Presenting Series events of the season, The Barber of Seville and Darlene Love, are sure to impress audiences. The Music Department celebrates Steven Sametz's final Choral Arts Concert. The end of our season doesn't mean the end of our connection to the community, as we proudly support the Live in the Bethlehem Rose Garden summer concert series. I hope to see you there. With Gratitude, Mark Fitzgerald Wilson

LU CHORAL ARTS: I HAVE HAD SINGING | FRI MAY 3 & SAT MAY 4
The Lehigh University Music Department presents the final Choral Arts concert of director Steven Sametz's career. He takes his final bow with I Have Had Singing. Want to learn more about his farewell concert? Listen to Steven's interview with WVIA's award-winning Erika Funke here!

LEHIGH STUDENT CHAMBER ENSEMBLES RECITAL | SUN MAY 5

ACADEMY OF VOCAL ARTS: THE BARBER OF SEVILLE | SUN MAY 12
Figaro! Figaro! Figaro! You'll recognize this famous aria from Rossini's comedic The Barber of Seville. The Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia trains young artists with tremendous potential as international opera soloists. They share their talent, passion, and theatrical gifts in this fully staged Italian masterpiece of captivating music, humor, and romance. Join us for Mother's Day to enjoy this historical 400-year-old art form. And the best part? Tickets are only $10 with promo code OPERA, offering you an affordable way to experience this cultural event.

DARLENE LOVE: LOVE SONGS | FRI MAY 17
The legendary Darlene Love is returning to Zoellner to perform Love Songs. She is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and a featured guest on Cher's chart-topping Christmas album. Rolling Stone has proclaimed Love to be "one of the greatest singers of all time," and that certainly rings true, but perhaps Paul Shaffer said it even more concisely: "Darlene Love is Rock N' Roll!" We appreciate Air Products' support of this concert, which allows us to bring such incredible talent to our community.
